Heat

HEAT

The hot days are 

here

again

Friends are canceling

sitting in stiflingly-HOT

art fair booths

while waiting for 

customers

who want only to 

go

to the lake

Our

 gardens

 are finally taking shape

But will be looked after carefully

 these next days

so the plants

will stay watered

enough

to not

droop

and/or

die

I will fill the birdbaths

so birds 

and

squirrels

may 

sip or splash

We've forgotten 

about

our

old friend

Winter

so recently

gone

And Spring...

Remember Spring?

No?

 Me, neither.

Maybe tomorrow

we will muscle in

The Air Conditioner

and life and work

will return to normal

For now

I give thanks 

for the 

inventors

of portable fans

and ceiling fans

I am a fan of fans

Till it is once again

time to turn off

the fans and put away

the air conditioner

and turn

The Heat

back on
